The Results are in... the winner is PAUL SINTON-HEWITT!

To launch our Fitbit parkrun Challenge Series we pitted the parkrun community against Paul Sinton-Hewitt, parkrun founder, to see who would take the most steps over 8 days.

Paul might have outstepped Team parkrun in this challenge, but it was a fantastic team effort and everyone who participated deserves credit. We’re so proud of your efforts that we’ll be donating £5,000 towards funding new parkrun events.

Thanks to everyone who joined in! Keep your eye out for the next challenge. Find out more

A MESSAGE FROM PAUL

What's The Fitbit parkrun Challenge Series?

The Fitbit parkrun Challenge Series is a way to motivate you to stay active and reach your step goal every day, not just on parkrun Saturdays!

The first challenge took place from 25th June – 2nd July. parkrunners were pitted against Paul Sinton-Hewitt, the founder of parkrun. Participants were challenged to take at least 10,000 steps a day, all of which contributed towards a Team parkrun average to try and beat Paul's total.

You can use these phones as a step tracker:
  • • iPhone 5S, SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6S or iPod Touch 6th Gen
  • • HTC One M8
  • • Microsoft Nokia 630, 635, 730, 735, 830, 930, Icon, 1520
Download the app
Visit the Google Play, Apple App or Microsoft store, download the app, register, come back to this page and register. Use the same email address you used to sign-up for the app.

How do I take part?

There aren’t any challenges live at the moment but there will be another one soon, at which time any/all registered parkrunners can join the challenge. You just need to download the free Fitbit® app to a compatible phone. If you already have a Fitbit tracker, then as soon as the registration is open, you can register.

Why should I join in?

Joining the Fitbit parkrun Challenge Series means you have more motivation to move everyday, and there will be some great prizes.

In the first challenge, 5 winners were picked to win 2 Fitbit Blaze smart fitness watches each; one for themselves and one to give a parkrun friend. Plus, we donated £5000 towards funding new parkrun events.
